NB Renaissance Partners and Chequers Capital enter in Biolchim

To speed up the international growth and the leadership in the biostimulants market are the main short term objectives

NB Renaissance Partners and Chequers Capital announced that they have signed an agreement with Wise Sgr to jointly acquire a controlling stake of the Biolchim Group, leader in the production and marketing of special fertilizers. The group’s management, led by Leonardo Valenti, will retain a stake share of about 8%.

From 2008 to date Biochim has completed four strategic acquisitions, including Cifo S.r.l. and 60% of Ilsa S.p.A. with the purpose of expanding the product portfolio, increasing the production capacity and enhancing the research and development.

Over the last few years the Group has grown significantly, passing from a revenue of 30 million in 2008 to an expected 115 million in 2017.
Today the international market represents about 35% of the turnover and is expected to grow more, also thanks to the strong synergy with Ilsa in the R&D sector.

Stefano Bontempelli and Marco De Simoni, NB Renaissance partners have commented:

Biolchim is an Italian entrepreneur excellence and an internationally recognized leader in the special fertilizer sector, a worldwide market driven by important long-term growth prospects.
